Dash Board / Instrument Panel: Service and Repair
Instrument Panel Assembly Rotating
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Instrument panel accessory trim plate.
- See: Related Operations/Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement
2. Screws that retain the HVAC control assembly to the instrument panel.
3. HVAC control assembly.
^ Disconnect the vacuum and electrical connectors.
4. Screws that retain the radio to the instrument panel (if equipped).
5. Radio and storage compartment assembly (if equipped).
^ Reach behind the radio to disconnect the antenna and electrical connectors.
6. Three lower instrument panel support bolts across the bottom of the instrument panel.
A. Left and right instrument panel pivot bolts.
B. Instrument panel lower support bolt.
7. Screws that retain the speaker grilles to the instrument panel.
8. Speaker grilles.
9. Windshield defroster grille, using a flat-bladed tool, starting at one end and working down the grille.
10. Four instrument panel upper support screws.
11. Electrical connectors as necessary.
12. Instrument panel from the vehicle.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Instrument panel to the vehicle.
^ Rest the instrument panel on the lower pivot studs.
2. Electrical connectors as necessary.
3. Four upper instrument panel support screws.
^ Do not tighten.
4. Three lower instrument panel support bolts across the bottom of the instrument panel.
A. Left and right instrument panel pivot bolts.
Tighten Bolts to 11.5 Nm (102 lb in).
B. Instrument panel lower support bolt.
Tighten
^ Bolt to 11.5 Nm (102 lb in).
^ Upper support screws to 1.9 Nm (17 lb in).
5. Windshield defroster grille.
6. Speaker grilles.
7. Screws that retain the speaker grilles to the instrument panel.
Tighten Screws to 1.9 Nm (17 lb in).
8. Radio and storage compartment assembly (if equipped).
^ Reach behind the radio to connect the antenna and electrical connectors.
9. Screws that retain the radio to the instrument panel (if equipped).
Tighten Screws to 1.9 Nm (17 lb in).
10. HVAC control assembly.
^ Connect the vacuum and electrical connectors.
11. Screws that retain the HVAC control assembly to the instrument panel.
Tighten Screws to 1.9 Nm (17 lb in).
12. Instrument panel accessory trim plate.
